Booking a holiday with Watermouth Castle:

Guest Age Requirement: At least one member of the party must be over the age of 21.

Deposits: A standard deposit of 20% is required.

Balance Payment: The full balance is due six weeks prior to the arrival date. While we strive to provide reminders closer to the deadline, it is advisable to mark the date in your calendar.

Discounts / Special Offers: All discounts and special offers are subject to availability, cannot be guaranteed, and only one discount or offer may be used per booking.  Offer codes cannot be added retrospectively once a booking has been made.  

Groups: Group reservations, including hen and stag parties, are accepted only upon prior arrangement.

Amendment or Cancellation of Reservations

Admin Fee: All changes are subject to a £20.00 admin fee.

Changes Made More than Six Weeks Prior to Arrival: Changes requested and accommodated more than six weeks before the arrival date incur a £20.00 admin fee. Any difference in price will be adjusted accordingly, and any applicable discounts or special offers will be considered valid only during the booking period.

Changes Made Less than Six Weeks Prior to Arrival: Although we will strive to offer assistance, we regret that we cannot accommodate any major changes to bookings made within six weeks of the arrival date.

Addition/Removal of Extras: Holiday extras may be added up to 24 hours before arrival. Please contact us, and we will assist you accordingly.

Cancellation of Booking: In the event of a cancellation, please notify us as soon as possible. Deposits are non-refundable, but cancellations made at least six weeks prior to the arrival date incur no further charges, and guests are not liable for the holiday balance.

Cancellation Less than Six Weeks from Arrival: Cancellations made within six weeks of the arrival date are subject to a refund policy. A refund of 50% of the booking value is applicable up to four weeks prior to arrival; however, refunds are not provided within four weeks of the arrival date.

Cancellation by Management: In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a booking due to unforeseen events. Should this occur, guests will be promptly notified, and they may opt for a full refund or consider alternative arrangements for a future stay.

Refunds: Any refunds payable under these Terms & Conditions will generally be returned using the same method of payment as that used for your original booking.  Refunds can take up to 7-10 working days to return to you once processed.  If you have used vouchers or coupons to make your booking, these may be transferred to another break (subject to the terms of the voucher or coupon) but will not be cash refunded.  

Arrivals and Departures

Check-in: Guests are welcome to check-in any time from 4:00pm.

Check Out: Guests must vacate the Accommodation by 10:00am on the day of your departure. An additional charge may be made for a late departure that has not been agreed with us. 

Guest Obligations

Accommodation:  We request that all guests and their visitors act responsibly and carefully whilst at the property, abiding by any property specific house rules and leave the property, and all things in or at it, in the same state of repair and cleanliness as at the start of the holiday.

Behaviour: Treat people with respect and not act in a way which is abusive, violent, destructive, menacing, or harassing.

Belongings: Please ensure that you look after any belongings which you bring to the castle and do not leave any valuables unattended.   All guests are responsible for looking after their own belongings whilst staying at the castle and we do not accept any liability for loss or damage to your belongings.  

Breakages: Please report to the office any damages or breakages made during the holiday occupancy.  You may be required to cover the costs associated with repairing or replacing damaged items (wear and tear accepted).

Departure: Please check your accommodation carefully prior to departure.  We cannot accept any responsibility for items left behind.  At the end of your holiday, please leave everything in a clean and tidy condition.  We ask that guests deposit all their refuse and recycling in the bins provided.  Please ensure that you use the correct section for the appropriate kind of refuse you are disposing of.

Law: At all times comply with any applicable laws and local or Government guidance and ensure that no holidaymaker or their guests or pets do anything which is illegal, or may cause unreasonable damage, noise, behaviour or disturbance.

Noise: All guests and their visitors must endeavour to keep any noise at a level that will not disturb other people, especially between 22:00hrs and 08:00hrs.  The playing of loud music or loud offensive behaviour is prohibited at all times and the management reserve the right to terminate the letting without notice if guests cause a disturbance or nuisance to another guests.

Occupy: You undertake that only the agreed number of persons will occupy each property and whose details have been disclosed on the booking form.  The management reserves the right to refuse entry to the entire party if this condition is not observed.  Guests are responsible for any visitors they have to the property and for ensuring that they observe the terms and conditions of the letting.

Security: Secure the property (including all windows and doors) whenever leaving the property.

Smoking: No smoking or vaping is allowed within the property. 

Pet Policy

We extend a warm welcome to dogs in 6 of our apartments, excluding the Clock Tower, with a charge of £35.00 per dog. Pet-friendly accommodation permits a maximum of two dogs. Please note that we do not accept dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act, including Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Japanese Tosa, and XL Bullies.

Vehicles and Parking/charging of Electric Vehicles

We cannot accept responsibility for vehicles or their contents when parked at the castle.  Each apartment is allocated one nearby car parking space.  Guests may be asked to park second vehicles elsewhere in the castle grounds at our discretion and provided that space is available.

Please note that the electricity supply to your Accommodation is not permitted to be used for the charging of any hybrid and/or electric vehicles. 

We don’t currently have any electrical charging points on the grounds at the castle. Here are the nearest charging points to the castle:

Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle

Complimentary access to Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle is provided during its public opening times. Kindly note that Watermouth Castle will be closed from November 3rd, 2024, until its reopening in 2025. While the apartments remain open during this period, access to the attraction/theme park section of the castle will not be available.
