Dog Friendly Days Out | Watermouth Castle, North Devon

Dogs are welcome at Watermouth Castle! Bring your four-legged explorer along for a dog friendly day out in North Devon - and if you're staying in our self-catering apartments, they can stay too (all apartments except the Clock Tower).

We just ask their accompanying humans to sign up to our Castle Canine Code when they book.

What a Dog Friendly Day at the Castle Looks Like

Sniff your way around our gardens and grounds, with the whole of Watermouth Bay spread out below. Dogs on leads are welcome around the site, with water bowl stations dotted along the way for a mid-adventure breather - and waste bags on hand if you've forgotten yours.

A few spots are humans-only - the Dungeons, the rides, Hobbledown Bay, inside the Castle Café and the grassed seating areas - but there's easily a day's worth of exploring together everywhere else. Just add a dog ticket (£2.50 per dog) when booking your own.

Castle Canine Code

Only friendly, well-behaved dogs are allowed and owners must keep them on leads at all times.

Dogs can stay hydrated at the various water bowl stations located around the site.

Dog waste disposal bags are also available on site should you need them, and we ask that any deposits are cleared away by owners immediately and disposed of in the bins provided.

The following areas are unsuitable for dogs, and so dogs will not be permitted to enter:

Dogs and their owners must behave responsibly and be respectful of other guests and Castle property at all times.

We don’t accept dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act which are: Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Japanese Tosa and XL Bullies.

*Please note dogs and their owners may be asked to leave if a breach of the code should occur.
